Arrival in Sri Lanka and discovery of Negombo
Bandaranaike Airport To Negombo

Upon arrival at the Bandaranaike Airport, your driver welcomes you. You are greeted by the tropical air of this magical island, and for your first destination your drive to Negombo, a beautiful beach town, nicknamed “Little Rome”, close to the airport and therefore ideal to recover from your long flight. After settling in at your hotel, depending on your arrival time, go for a walk around the town, you can see beautiful colonial churches. You can also go for a boat ride along the Muthurajawela canal, the longest in Sri Lanka (optional). It is known to be the sanctuary for more that a hundred species of birds. Negombo is the ideal location for the first immersion with the local population. Dinner at leisure.

Fish market and visit to the Elephants
Negombo To Kandy

Early in the morning, walk through Negombo's famous fish market Negombo is home to one of the largest fishing communities on the island, and stroll along the shore where fishermen moor their catamarans.
Upon completion leave to Kandy. En route with a stop at Kegalle to discover the "Millennium Elephant Foundation", an elephant care center. Help one of them take a bath and go for a walk by his side (we do not recommend elephant rides). Visit the small museum and the stationery that recycles the dung of the pachyderms!
Proceed the journey to Kandy, the last royal capital of the island, which maintains an aristocratic atmosphere. Dinner at leisure.

After breakfast, you will discover the city center on foot, starting with a visit to the Temple of the Tooth, a sacred Buddhist temple, richly decorated which houses the Tooth Relic. In the afternoon, we suggest a hike in the vicinity of Kandy, to discover 3 temples. You visit Ambakke temple, a Buddhist temple with Hindu influences dating from the 13th century, decorated with wooden sculptures. Then, at Lankathilake Temple, a 14th century Buddhist temple, famous for its frescoes, rock carvings and beautiful Buddha statues. Then at the temple of Gadaladeniya. At the end of the day, you will be taken to enjoy a show of traditional dances conducted by the youth of Kandy. Dinner at leisure.

Train to Nuwara Eliya
Kandy To Ella

After breakfast leave Kandy and embark on a train journey that takes you on a scenic ride through some of the most beautiful highland countryside areas in Sri Lanka. Upon arrival at the Nanu Oya railway Station, your driver will be there to pick you up and make a stop in Nuwara Eliya, a small town with a very British vibe, with its Georgian houses with manicured lawns and hedges, its Anglican church and its beautiful parks. Located at over 1,800 meters above sea level, this resort enjoys very mild temperatures. You make a little city tour before resuming the road. Along the way, you visit the Hindu Temple of Seetha Amman. Dinner at leisure.

Hiking around Ella

Breakfast at the hotel, you have the possibility to go hiking (optional) with an English trekking guide. Several itineraries are possible according to your level and your desire. You could climb the "Ella Rock", or rather lose yourself in the countryside of Bandarawela, through villages, vegetable gardens and rice fields. Haputale also offers beautiful treks in the heart of the tea fields. Depending on the route, you will be able to swim in a waterfall, visit a tea factory or meet the tea pickers who will make a demonstration of the picking. Enjoy a picnic lunch. Dinner at leisure.

Road to the South and visit to a pilgrimage site

After Breakfast you take the road to the south of the country. On the way, make a stop at the Buduruwagala Temple to admire the splendid Buddhas carved into the rock. This walk in the cool of the surrounding jungle is pleasant to stretch your legs. Then visit the Kataragama Temple, which is one of the main pilgrimage sites in the country. Take advantage of this stop to visit the sacred multi-religious city and discover these various sites, mosque, Buddhist and Hindu temples. In July and August, many festivals take place there. With a little luck, you could attend a ceremony. Dinner at leisure.

Safari at Yala Park and discovery of the coast
Tissamaharama To Polhena

Early in the morning, you will go on a jeep safari in the Yala National Park, where the huge parkland is home to a variety of animals such as elephants, crocodiles, bears, monkeys, mongooses, deer and various birds. The park is famous for its leopard population, and hopefully you'll see one napping on a rock or another drinking at a waterhole. For bird lovers, we recommend the National Park of Bundala.
You then take the road along the south coast to Polhena for your seaside holiday. Along the way you could mark several stops to admire the Mulkirigala Temple, Dondra Lighthouse, Hambantota Harbor, Kirinda Temple. You will then check in to your hotel near the beach. Dinner at leisure.

You wake up at dawn to reach Mirissa Harbor from where you set out on an exceptional excursion: a blue whale watching cruise from Sri Lanka. This excursion takes about 4 hours. A snack will be served on board. You return to the hotel for an afternoon of relaxation or activities. A multitude of excursions are available to you in the surroundings. You can also just laze at the pool of your hotel or on the beach. Dinner at leisure.

You proceed along the south coast of the country to reach Hikkaduwa. Depending on the time, you may see fishermen on stilts at work. You stop at Galle, an architectural jewel with various colonial influences. Totally disconnected from the rest of the city, the fort, built in the 17th century by the Dutch, looks like a peaceful and welcoming village. You will appreciate the ramparts, but also the lighthouse, the churches as well as the numerous small shops. You will then join your hotel near the beach. Dinner at the hotel (included).

Breakfast at the hotel, enjoy your last day by the sea before heading to the economic capital of Sri Lanka. On the way, you can stop at a turtle hatchery in Kosgoda or go for a walk in the mangrove of Balapitiya. Dinner at leisure.

City located by the sea, Colombo is bubbling with activities. Depending on the time you have, you have the opportunity to discover the city and its main attractions in tuk-tuk. Your tuk-tuk driver, accompanied by an English-speaking guide, picks you up and takes you off the beaten path to help you discover the real facets of this cosmopolitan city. You will discover the main attractions of Colombo: the district of the fort, the district of Pettah, with its bazaar and its mosque, the district of City Hall with its colonial buildings and its Buddhist temple. You will be able to taste many specialties. It's also an opportunity to stock up on souvenirs before heading to the international airport, as we bid you goodbye and we wish you have a safe flight back.
