BOOKING TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Mai Globe Travels require that the clients understand and agrees to the following terms and conditions at the time of booking.

A/ BOOKING & PAYMENT

1. Hotel bookings:
Please note that all hotels are subject to availability at the time of booking. We will always make an effort to get the requested hotel but in case of non-availability, we will have to propose a similar hotel. Until the booking is confirmed (deposit payment received), none of your hotel bookings can be guaranteed.

2. Deposit payment:
A deposit payment of 50% of the total amount of the tour package must be received by Mai Globe Travels, in order to confirm the booking. You can choose to make an online payment with credit card or via bank transfer. Please note, in Sri Lanka many hotels confirm room reservations only after receiving an advanced payment or even full payment. While you make the payment, we can already reserve your rooms. However, these pre-reservations are only valid a limited time (subject to availability).

3. Balance payment: :
The balance payment is due at least 3 weeks prior to your arrival. For groups or incentive trips, the balance payment is due as per special agreement at the time of booking.


B/ PRICES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE

The tour price you agreed on at the time of booking will change only in case of:

• Exchange rate fluctuations: Our rates can be affected by any change of exchange rate between Sri Lankan Rupee and Euro or USD. A fluctuation of more than 3 rupees on the exchange rate will provoke an update of our rates. We will then send you an updated invoice with the new amount for your consideration. This condition applies for all our tours and packages, quotations as well as bookings.
• Variations of petrol prices
• Tax increases: In case the Sri Lankan government decides to increase taxes without prior notice, the tour price is subject to change (even though the booking was confirmed).
• Changes of entrance fees/ fees for activities


C/ VISA & PASSPORTS

Every individual traveler is required to possess a valid passport, which is valid for at least six months after arriving in Sri Lanka (Please check for any updated requirements on http://www.eta.gov.lk/slvisa/). All travelers must obtain their own valid visa prior to arrival. It is every traveler’s responsibility to ensure, all requirements of immigration and other government authorities are met for the booked destination(s). Should you breach any government regulations and fines, penalties, payments or any other kind of expenditures should occur as a result, it will be your sole responsibility.


D/ ITINERARY CHANGES & CANCELLATION POLICY

1. Itinerary changes
Mai Globe Travels muss möglicherweise während einer Tour aufgrund von höherer Gewalt, Wetterbedingungen oder politischen Spannungen die Reiseroute anpassen und/ oder Dienstleistungen ändern. Wir werden unser Bestes versuchen, Ihre Reise so anzupassen, dass jede Unannehmlichkeit minimiert wird. Mai Globe Travels kann nicht für eine Stornierung und/ oder Änderung der Reise aus den oben genannten Gründen verantwortlich gemacht werden.

2. Cancellation policy
• For some special services such as privatized transport or exclusive rent, full payment will be kept, as per our supplier’s conditions.
• Cancellations beyond 31 days of the arrival date – 10% of the advance payment will be non-refundable, once the booking is confirmed with deposit payment received. Depending on the hotels policy, in addition to the above, other cancellation charges may apply.
• Cancellations within 21 to 30 days of the arrival date – 25% of the Invoice Value.
• Cancellations within 15 to 20 days of the arrival date – 50% of the Invoice Value.
• No Shows & Cancellations within 01 to 14 days of the arrival date – 100% of the Invoice Value.


During Peak Season (from 15th of December to 15th of January):
• Cancellations beyond 46 days of the arrival date – 10% of the advance payment will be non-refundable, once the booking is confirmed with deposit payment received. Depending on the hotels policy, in addition to the above, other cancellation charges may apply.
• Cancellations within 45 to 31 days of the arrival date – 25% of the Invoice Value.
• Cancellations within 30 to 21 days of the arrival date – 50% of the Invoice Value.
• Cancellations within 20 to 14 days of the arrival date – 75% of the Invoice Value.
• No Shows & Cancellations within 01 to 14 days of the arrival date – 100% of the Invoice Value.


3. Refunds:
The amount to be refunded by Mai Globe Travels will be sent by bank transfer within 21 days after receiving the cancellation request. International bank charges will be deducted from the total amount to be refunded.


E/ INSURANCE

Mai Globe Travels Pvt. Ltd is insured against Public Limited Liability by Janashakti General Insurance Limited (JGIL), policy number LPL2015-310.

Insurance coverage is excluded for certain activities including bungee jumping, parachuting, paragliding, sky diving, martial arts, hang gliding and similar.

Mai Globe Travels cannot be held liable for pure financial loss not consequent upon bodily injury or damages. Furthermore are fines, penalties, punitive and exemplary damages excluded of liability, as well as any act of war, terrorism or sabotage. Additionally Mai Globe Travels cannot be held liable for claims arising from the use of aircrafts, watercraft exceeding 10 meters in length, and hovercrafts.

Your personal travel insurance:
Mai Globe Travels strongly encourage tourists to obtain travel health insurance including repatriation cover and be properly vaccinated before travel. The agency does not provide health insurance for clients. Clients are responsible for any hospital or health related expenses that might incur during the tour. Please provide your travel insurance details before arrival and carry a copy with you during your trip. Please provide an emergency contact as well prior to arrival.


F/ REMARKS

Personal belongings are responsibility of each and individual client. Mai Globe Travels will not be responsible for any belongings that are lost or stolen or damaged during the tour or at the hotels.

Mai Globe Travels is not a ticketing agency and is not responsible for airfare for the tour. Mai Globe Travels is not responsible for any tour penalties due to delay in flight arrivals and lost or misplaced luggage. The agency does not cover domestic airfare unless otherwise stated in the tour itinerary.

All issued travel documents are non-transferable. Such documents include vouchers, coupons and tickets.

The standard check-in time is 2PM and check-out is 12PM. Nevertheless, this schedule may vary depending on the hotel.
